See how I was haunted by my past

My name is Joshua Ikenna, I am from Ebonyi state but I grew up in Abeokuta somewhere around Itaoshi were I lived with my uncle. My uncle was nice to me. He was actually the one seeing me through my school as at then he wasn’t married until I was in JSS 3 (three) he got married and life was like hell for me. His wife maltreats me and gives me unnecessary work. She makes me absent from school. But Even at this, I wasn't moved because I knew where I was coming from I had to just endure that at least let me go to my secondary school.
well I eventually stayed till I was in my finals in secondary school, when I was about to write my WAEC I traveled to Benue my state to write my exam
and after then my uncles wife refused me coming back and I didn’t think on my own I would want to go back there, at least I have tried living with them for ten years.

So after my WAEC in the village things weren’t easy at all this was the year 2010 , I had to look for what to do….so I went into hawking since that was a common job I could get without too much stress, I hawked on the streets, for about 3 months and then I got a job as a car washer, I worked there for some months and a friend of mine told me about coming to Lagos to hustle that is more favorable there.  I didn’t like the idea, he told me that I can learn a trade and at the end of the contract I will be settled. I didn’t like the idea so I looked for money to come to Lagos 2011 to hustle I started hawking on the high ways after about 2 months of hawking I was robbed one after a day sales and that almost got me frustrated that I had to beg to raise 3500 to travel back to my state, my friend Raphael still came to meet me to talk about what he said before about learning a trade and he said he was interested that he also want to do the same thing.
After some days of thinking over it, I came to him to say I was ready. And then we both traveled to Lagos and few weeks we got a place that was same 2011 somewhere around Benson in Ikorodu and we signed the contract for six years and six months so we started though it was a bit challenging at first it wasn’t easy at all but I thank God that just like yesterday I will be settled hopefully this year and precisely a few months from now. I want to say thank you to my friend Raphael and also to almighty God he saw me through and today I can say I am doing well anticipating the fact that I will be settled soon is enough to be happy.

And thank you PeopleAroundLagos for this platform and opportunity to share my story and my advice to you all out there is just let God direct you and always listen to your spirit God don’t tell lies everything will be fine at its time.
